PHUKET: -- A French national and an unidentified man were killed in a collision between two motorbikes in Patong early Sunday morning. A third man, a Myanmar national, is in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the smash.

All three victims were taken to Patong Hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead. The French national, named Arnaud Sacha Leclere, 33, worked as the director at Pink Paradise Phuket on Bangla Road.

An early morning Facebook post by ‘Pink Paradise Phuket’ notified the public of his demise. “Today we have lost our Director, our Brother, our Best Friend. R.I.P Arnaud we will always love you,” the post read.

Is there no end to the madness?

Not as long as economics and convenience draw people toward a mode of transportation that's 20-40 times as dangerous as the 4 wheel alternative.

A seat belt, doors and a roof will save you when a helmet won't even come close.

You are not expected to answer. Just about everyone knows the answer.

This is why I only ride in my tank......

Once I had to get into a car, so i bought 4 other cars to surround me at all times...

Be safe out there...if you have the money, buy a helicopter..

"tuk-tuk.  tuk-tuk."

The lack of public transport on Phuket claims another life.

No seat belts and doors on Pattaya baht buses, yet, this system moves around millions of locals, expats, and tourists, 24/7/365, and in relative safety, for 10 baht a journey, which is cheaper than parking a motorbike on Soi Sansabai here.

Is it little wonder the main tourist demographic to Phuket now is Chinese package holiday makers in their coach buses. They wouldn't even come here, if the coach bus transport wasn't part of their holiday package.
