PHUKET:-- A man was found dead with an electric wire wrapped around his wrist early this morning in Thalang. Police believe he died from a self-inflicted shock.

“We received reports at 2:40am that Channarong Sinka, 30, was found in his one-storey house on a street off Thepkrasattri Road,” Thalang Police Lt Sunan Petnhu told the Phuket Gazette.

“We found him lying face-down on the floor in a pool of blood, with an electric wire wrapped around his right wrist, stuck to his arm with adhesive tape. Relatives discovered him with the wire still plugged in to an electrical socket, which they then unplugged.”

PHUKET: -- Police are investigating the death of a man who was found electrocuted in his home in Baan Don, Thalang, early yesterday morning (Oct 31).

Lt Sunan Patnoo, an investigator with the Thalang Police, was called to the home, near Wat Thepkrasattri (Ban Don) School, at 2:45am.

Inside the house, police officers and Kusoldharm rescue workers found the body of Channarong Sinkar, 30, dressed only in black shorts.

“A black power wire was taped to his right right hand. At this stage it looks like he taped the power lead to his hand then inserted the plug into the power socket on the wall,” Lt Sunan said.

Where did the "pool of blood" come from?

Could have come from biting his tongue or cheeks when the shock hit. Assuming no GFI and no discrimination between the breaker he was attached to and the next higher. He could have had his bodily fluids flash boil, which can rupture all sorts of organs, releasing blood and other bodily fluids from any available orifice... Can be real messy.

I agree with Narratio.

An example of the horrifying effects of electrocution ,bloood boiling etc.

Another wonderful example of the effects causing these ghastly wounds, was a charming little device used by the Americans, the Electric Chair.

Blood boiling? How many volts or amps do you think could come from a domestic socket?
