Police radio JS100 published photos of a man being rescued from his sunken car in Phetchaburi province last night. The province has been suffering from flood for weeks.

The man reportedly ignored the police warning and drove into the area with flooding in order to make a U-turn on Phet Kasem Road.

In the end, he had to be rescued from his sunken car by exiting through the trunk. Luckily, he was not injured.

Troops aid Phetchaburi flood victims
By THE NATION

PHETCHABURI: -- THE ARMY YESTERDAY mobilised some 300 troops to help flood victims in Phetchaburi’s Muang and Ban Laem districts move their belongings to higher locations.

The areas were inundated on Monday night by excess water that had been discharged from Phetch Dam in Tha Yang district, said Colonel Sirichan Ngathong, deputy Army spokesman.

Steady rain during the past week had filled up the reservoirs in the province including that of Phetch Dam, which largely controls the amount of water in the upper part of the province, forcing them to drain some water downstream.

Is Petchkasem road flooded?

Does this mean the only highway to the south is inaccessible?

You have to be dead to qualify. However, I feel we need a new category, perhaps called the Darwin Underachievers Award, for people like this who do incredibly stupid things but have the luck to live. Actually, we should be grateful for that, as they will go on to reproduce, thus ensuring an endless supply of potential Darwin candidates for our amusement.

The fool should have been left in his car

He would have made a fine fish dinner somewhere down stream

What's a matter with people here. Ignoring signs of flooded roads, railway crossings and beach red flags!
