I'm assuming you're male.

You can try Aldara.  It's a cream which stimulates the body's immune system to attack the wards.  It works for some people, not others.

If that doesn't work, make an appointment with a hospital's dermatology department to get them lasered off.  Check the hospital has the right equipment to do this.  Not all do.

Note that the virus responsible can linger in the skin, so there's a possibility that new warts will arise.

How long have you been using it? I only suggested it on Thursday.

You really don't want to get it frozen - too painful and may leave scarring.  You want to get it lasered, honestly.  They definitely do this at Samitivej Sukhumwit hospital, but I would expect most of the large private hospitals to have the required equipment and expertise.

I have heard that scrubbing them with organic apple cider vinegar ( braggs is best) has worked for some, they just fall off. Doesnt cost much to find out.

Google the process....u have to keep the vinegar in contact with skin overnight.

Theres also an anti viral tablet you take for a week during treatment....Isoprinosine 2x daily.

Actually cryotherapy (freezing) should be painless.  In any case has never been more painful than laser for me (and have had a lot of laser).  I just had several pre-cancer skin areas done by Dr. Kanchana Sermswan at Bangkok Hospital and they were completely painless with no need for local anesthetic or bleeding or antibiotics or bandage (all often part of laser treatment).  Freezing is much more effective at killing any off chance cancer than laser burning and no special after care required.  But yes, it might leave a small scar or spot on some people - but suspect many of us are beyond that fear.

I had ingrowing finger warts frozen and then lasered years ago in Europe. The freezing was painless at the time, and local anaesthetic was required for the laser. Both caused bleeding and sensitivity afterwards (cant call it pain), and both left permanently visible areas that probably only the subject would notice.

Maybe the techniques and equipment have improved since then. I remember that the laser burned a much larger area than seemed necessary to me, though what do I know?

We must remember that we're talking about a very sensitive part of the anatomy here.  Using matches or freezing will cause more pain that if applied on other parts of the body.

In my (albeit limited) experience, of lasering, the doctor took extreme care and only took out an absolute minimum of tissue.  There was no pain at all, I was not left with any visible scarring.  Freezing is always going to damage surrounding tissue and so cause discomfort.

In my (much larger) experience of freezing  (I've had the treatment many times over the last 30+ years), I find it utterly useless.   Last year I had a dozen or so warts on hands and feet.  After 7 fortnightly rounds of freezing, only 3 had gone.  Ended up with getting them cut out.  Not an experience I'd like to repeat.

Possibly Sheryl will weigh in on this topic before there are too many   unfruitful  home remedies suggested.

Unless there's been a major medical  break through I'm of the understanding that there is no cure for venereal  warts.

Two weeks would be about the fastest you could expect any result - often it will take several months for Aldara cream to be effective in my reading - up to 4 months (or longer) to remove.

Genital warts can be treated, what there is no cure for is the underlying HPV infection. (So there may be recurrences).

There are 2 ways to treat:

1 - apply topical creams like Aldara. This takes many weeks. (There is another topical solution used, podophyllotoxin, but not available AFAIK in Thailand)

2 - ablation by either cryosurgery (freezing with liquid niotrogen), laser, surgical excision.

Which treatment is best depends on the charactertistics of the warts - size, how many, how  hard in texture etc.

See http://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment/2010/genital-warts.htm

Need to see a dermatologist.  Pattaya Memorial, PIH, BPH, Queen Sirikit  -- take your pick.

This is a tough one.

The warts are a virus and  like to stick around as with herpes.   Hiding behind the  eyeball.

It astounds me that there is no other creature on the planet that is so impacted with such  things as an  STD.        Maybe that is proof of a God to punish all of mankind  for enjoying sex.

(1) Warts are not a virus.  They are caused by a range of viruses.

(2) Viruses don't hide behind the eyeball.  Within the eyeball is an "immunologically privileged site" meaning that antibodies don't attack what is within them.  The testes, brain and the placenta are similarly privileged.  Viruses (and other alien materials) can persist in these areas.

(3) Of course other creatures suffer STDs.  Even cute koalas suffer from chlamydia and their very survival is under threat http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-22207442

(4) Since God doesn't exist, it can't possibly be proof of anything.

(5) You don't need to enjoy sex for an STD to be passed on.  Consider rape victims.

So, 5 gross factual errors in 2 sentences.  Could that be a record?

Cleary, Oxx,  you've vastly more informed about this subject than I am.

I thought HPV (papillomaviris) which is a part of warts is a virus.       I should have used the qualifying word "caused"   I gather I'm wrong about that  based on your reply.

That's one down and since I  expressed no personal  belief in a god, that's two down already.

I recommend you look at the site of  www.mayoclinic.com or any similar site in the UK or your home country.

Are you telling me the herpes virus does not rest dormant behind the eyeball?    I'm learning something new all the time.

All good and I hope the OP finds a good solution to his  matter.

"koalas suffer from chlamydia and their very survival is under threat http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-22207442"     This is new to me but as I age, I learn new things all the time.

Maybe god is equally angry at  the  Koala bear.    555

Preposterous:  " You don't need to enjoy sex for an STD to be passed on.  Consider rape victims."

How many is that?  smile.gif

Just had cryotherapy and it worked really well for 3 genital warts and a skin tag

it cost me 1300 baht in total at medconsult and it was really quick and not painful

Before you continue to pay more for what you can do at home. Consider apple cider vinegar, soak a cotton swap and place under a water-proof band aid (plaster, as they call it in Thailand). Do this for 2 nights as you sleep. It will be gone.

Works for skin tags also.

All skin clinics can laser growths, warts etc. Every large shopping mall has many such clinics. The only problem is whether you're comfortable pulling it out for treatment. Better hope the nurse is not too attractive LOL.

Try bactokil

That’s an antibiotic (Mupirocin).... warts nor skin tags are caused by bacteria, so I doubt it’d work, plus using Mupirocin has to be monitored so as to avoid bacteria resistance to it which can cause problems down the line with staphylococcus infections.
