BANGKOK:-- Five top officers at Bangkok’s Lat Krabang Police Station were transferred following Friday’s bust of a gambling den in Soi Lat Krabang 2 by the Army that led to the arrest of 96 punters – 72 Thais, 21 Cambodians and three Vietnamese – and the seizure of Bt121,000, said city police chief Lt-General Sanit Mahathaworn on Saturday.

Sanit said Metropolitan Police Area 3 acting chief Colonel Somneuk Noikhong ordered the transfer of Lat Krabang superintendent Colonel Sarawuth Siri along with four Lt-Colonels – Phuwanai Senawuthi, Sayan Phetchyeunyong, Suchat Mongkonpipat and Thatpong Jitbanjong – to the Metropolitan Police Area 3 operation centre.

Will the new wind blow away the smoke?

Top cops transferred :cheesy:

Again another case of police inaction/corruption.

Why not just sack them? Ohh they cannot do that, because they are all at it.

My, such a huge sum of money for so many people. My BS meter just shorted clear out.

what's the usual procedure?

- empty everyone's pockets? irrespective of whether the cash they are holding was what they brought in, or won?

Average of 1260 baht per punter.....hi rollers for sure.

The monetary value is pretty irrelevant,

I agree with the police commissioner asking people not to criticise the police as there is no ground for such CRITICISM ?

Why does the media waste time on this? It's a forgone conclusion that they were on the take. Not exactly rocket science.

It would be very interesting to know the outcomes of all of these RTP schemes that were trumped and raided by the Army. We never seem to hear that part.

Face though.

I bet all these crooked cops are just loving the hell out of the junta now....5555

Why should the foreigners pay a bigger fine than a citizen that should have known the laws better? I know TIT.  Are there any gambling dens that are not run or overseen by police?

And a National Police spokesman asks for respectful treatment of the RTP?  He must reside in la la land! :shock1:

Be careful what you wish for.

If every law on the books in Thailand was rigidly enforced you wouldn't stay here. Well I wouldn't anyway.

New Gambling Den opening soon at  Metropolitan Police Area 3 operation centre.
