Hello, a few girls want to travel somehow from Mandalay to Vang Vieng (Vientiane would probably do as well).

As they're just out of school, they won't unse a plane. Are there any bus connections into Laos.

Would probably easier to find a route through Thailand, but maybe get problems with to many exemt entries, so better to avoid.

 

Would be great if anyone has some info.

 

No borders between Burma and Laos

by bus.....no flights;Mandalay to Yangon to  Hpa-an- cross over at Mae sot- travel  by bus to Chiang Mai- Chiang Khong-boat to Luang Prabang- bus to Vang Vieng;

would take ya at least 5  days or more

 

Or fly Mandalay- Kentung- travel overland and cross at Mai Sai- Bus to Chiang Khong and as above

 

OR fly Mandalay- CM and follow as above
