I hope one day Thais will not need a Visa to visit the UK and these excessive fees and difficult procedures will become something of the past.

I suspect this is a stop gap measure but is welcome nevertheless! The fees are too high to allow many genuine applicant to appeal without considerable thought. Not that much more to reapply!

It is a potential injustice to allow mistakes and errors to go unchallenged.

I suspect new figures will be found that cover most of the cost but remain fair. Ideally with some form of financial redress where an appeal is successful.

The costs should be borne by the 'guilty' party. If it is UKVI then they should be learning to get it right all the time rather than most!

Good news!
