Increase in UK appeal fees reversed

Featured Replies

The Government has reversed the recent increase in UK visa refusal appeal fees. Fees had been increased from 80 GBP and 140 GBP,  to 490 GBP and 800 GBP in October.  This was a 500% fee increase. The fees were increased last month, and will now need new legislation to reverse the increase. Those who have paid the higher fee will get a refund. I hope one day Thais will not need a Visa to visit the UK and these excessive fees and difficult procedures will become something of the past.

I suspect this is a stop gap measure but is welcome nevertheless! The fees are too high to allow many genuine applicant to appeal without considerable thought. Not that much more to reapply!

It is a potential injustice to allow mistakes and errors to go unchallenged.

I suspect new figures will be found that cover most of the cost but remain fair. Ideally with some form of financial redress where an appeal is successful.

The costs should be borne by the 'guilty' party. If it is UKVI then they should be learning to get it right all the time rather than most!

Good news!
