Police arrest Thai man after woman found unconscious in school minivan

Police in Ang Thong arrested a Thai man on Wednesday after a young woman was found unconscious in a school van he was driving.

Police in the central Thai town had been alerted after someone saw the man drag a woman into his van.

But the driver - who was arrested outside the municipal offices after being followed - claimed that the girl was his girlfriend and after they argued she had fainted.

He reckoned he was on his way to hospital when the cops nabbed him.

Wirachai Sukhanthajan, 40, said that despite being married he and Jenjira, 22, a student in Uttaradit were an item.

But he said they had argued a lot recently. She had earlier driven to Suphanburi to return his motorcycle, he told police, but they argued again.

He said he was taking her home in the school van he drove when they had another bust up and she jumped out of the van and fainted.

Cops don't believe this. They found Jenjira unconscious in the van and she was rushed to hospital as fears grew she was in shock.

Wirachai was detained as officers waited for the young woman to regain consciousness so they could interview her and get to the bottom of the matter.

They said there were signs of a struggle in the van.

agree, lucky the poor lady is going to make it, as if not, then we would only have this little shites side of the story, which would have been a total fabrication of lies.

Unfortunately, this will be another suspended sentence at best...
