Advice on Buddhist studies using the GI Bill

Hi!  I moved to Thailand in 2016 and now I'm considering going to school here to study Buddhism.  The GI Bill will cover a good amount of the schools here.  I can speak Thai but not enough to get by in school yet.

 

I'm looking for recommendations, thoughts, experience, curriculum, info etc.
