90-Day address report grace period

Featured Replies

Hi all, I didn't want to create a new topic and I did try searching the forum already...

Does the 7-day grace period for reporting late include only working days? My date was due on 16th December so I think I am out of luck for sure ;)

Thanks all,

BH.

It is every day. The last day you could of reported without being fined 2000 baht was the 22nd since they include the report date in the count.

Reporting is calculated on calendar days, not working days.

Your grace period expired 22nd.

Under section 37 (5) of the Immigration Act

5. If the alien stays in the Kingdom longer than ninety days, such alien must notify the competent official at the Immigration Division , in writing , concerning his place of stay , as soon as possible upon expiration of ninety days. The alien is required to do so every ninety days. Where there is an Immigration Office , the alien may notify a competent Immigration Official of that office.

The penalty for late reporting is defined in section 76.

Section 76 : Any alien, alien, who fails to comply with the provisions of Section 37(2),(3),(4)or(5) shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with and additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with.

Most Offices will only fine you 2,000 baht for a single offence.
