PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, 11 January 2017 (NNT) - The Royal Irrigation Department has confirmed that an overflowing spillway of the Yang Chum reservoir in Prachuap Khiri Khan province will not affect the stability of the reservoir.

Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department Sanchai Ketworachai on Tuesday observed the water situation at the Yang Chum reservoir in Kui Buri district. The reservoir now stores water to its full capacity due to heavy rains. The spillway is submerged with one meter of water.

The reservoir has not discharged water down to the lower areas to prevent possible damages to people who live there.
