Has anyone recently had an online visa for a short holiday there and what was the turn around time, application to receipt.

UK citizen flying not land crossing.

My Thai wife who is visiting me regurlarly applied for online visa last month as she planned to stay more than 14 days. I actually applied for her online. Applied in the morning, received the email confirmation with the visa letter attached in the afternoon.

Haven't checked the thread for a few days but anyway applied for the e visa 6pm ish and got it 9am next day.

What's the procedure at Yangon when you land with an e visa?

Just follow the flow and go to the immigration counters, presenting your passport with the e-visa letter that you received by email. That's it. Do not go to the visa on arrival counter.

We do like a little 'red falling down water' in the evening.

 

Ok. Actually i am right now at Don Muang airport waiting for my flight to Yangon. So the information is very accurate as i just asked the duty free shop..:)

The Chatrium is well know hotel and well located. I have not been there myself but heard good things about it from some people that are staying there.
No problem for the questions. That's the purpose of a forum.
