Soldiers construct a makeshift Bailey bridge to connect a road section in the southern border province of Narathiwat that was cut off by floodwater following several hours of heavy rain.

 

MORE FLOODING is expected for the South, with experts warning that a monsoon trough is still in the region and will cause rain till next month.

 

The National Disaster Warning Centre warned yesterday that the South would be hit by heavy rain on Wednesday due to a high-pressure system from the Northeast and a low-pressure in the Andaman Sea. Some places may be hit be rainfall of more than 100 millimetres.

 

The director of the centre, Chayasarn Tonanon, said heavy rain in the South was normal at this time of the year, even though the rainfall was very high.

I doubt the locals will be able to pronounce either of those bridge names, for that matter

Miserable living in NST for my tgf family. Hope the rain ends soon. People can't work due to the water. A real hardship for many that rely on a wage.
