Code Lock Electronic Lock on Standard Thai Door, anybody has installed one ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Bored to use keys, I want an electronic door lock with codes.

Can you tell me where you bought yours, and if it was easy to install on a standard Thai door  with standard door knob (UK style).

I know that I can go to a shop, but I never go to any shop without knowing first exactly what I want to buy.

Thank you for your help.

What's a "standard Thai door"?

If you want something simple to install and maintain then a like-digital/mechanical battery operated replacement lock can be found that fits a standard drilled hole for the doors bolt size of 55-60mm.  Otherwise some high-end models require special installation (for the larger lock bolt / strike-plate).

Suggest you do a search on HomePro, Lazada, Priceza and look at the types and styles available.

In 2008 I bought several keypad electronic locks and one fingerprint electronic lock set from Prem Suksermsongchai the owner of Mature Lock in Bangkok. His company is also called Century Hardware. Very good service and he had his electric locks placed onto my six exterior doors at the door factory.  Mr. Prem speaks and understands English.  In 2015 I met with the owner of Ikon Hardware at the Architect Expo in Bangkok.  She and her boyfriend both speak English and they supply electronic locks and door hardware to many hotels and selected retailers. I found their products in Buriram at a Builders Merchants Store where I buy power tools and garden tools. I see Yale, Assa Abloy  and Mul T Lock electronic locks at selected home improvement stores in Thailand. Both mature Lock and Ikon have worked out for me due to price and being able to speak English with company principals. I see all manner of electronic door locks at a shop in FortuneTown.  I have had eight years a great ownership experience with Mature Lock at my home in Buriram Province. I have had one year of great ownership experience with Ikon electronic locks in the Buriram village house of my wife. I had an experienced carpenter install the Mature fingerprint door lock and the two Ikon digital locks.
