January 28, 20179 yr Flooding in southern provinces claims 91 lives By THE SUNDAY NATION A total of 91 people died during the recent deluge in the South, with five provinces still facing a threat from floodwaters, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said yesterday. Chatchai Promlert, the department’s director-general, said that since heavy rain hit the region in December, 1.8 million people in 12 provinces had been affected by severe flooding.
