Poll to decide where CM TV members want to meet on the evening of Weds Feb 22nd.  This would be the kick off venue and we could go on to other establishments on the night. Only those who are allowed or able to come out on a school night should vote as the night may involve having some alcohol and being out past 10pm ?

I don't know the difference between the two options.  Once or twice a month, Hubby goes on walkabout in the afternoon and when he's not home by 5 pm, I phone to learn he's at Number 1 Bar or is it No. 1 Bar or Number One Bar?  Whatever.  Someplace just off Loi Kroh rd. that's tame in the afternoon where he enjoys a nice chat with tourists and the staff until he gets a reminder that it's time to head on home.  I don't worry about him too much because he leaves home with just a couple thousand baht.  How much trouble can he get into with that?

So which place is it?

In reality I am more, pick up a six pack from 7/11 and meet in a park with a portable BBQ type.

Sadly not an option.

It could be an option, because that appeals to me too. Much rather enjoy a red hot BBQ with some ice cold beers rather then stand in a luke warm CM bar.

If you ever decide to do that you can count me in.

tell how you how dumb it is !

1/ he cannot even get the  meeting dates correct ,weds is the 22nd,   thurs is the 23rd,   his O/P  on this thread  says WEDS 23rd

2/ called for Venue suggestions, for a poll, according to his posts on the thread (closed y/day),5 were approved

Number 1 Bar...Red Lion..Terrace Bar..Four Seasons..Khualek Restaruant

Lo and Behold  ,he omitted four, for reasons unknown

kept Number 1  Bar, in poll ,and threw  in  No 1 Bar , to add to the confusion

  in my view  , he  sadly , could .nt organise a piss up, in a brewery!

a lovely morning to all

Looks like a lot of confusion and bickering before the meeting

even takes place,but what can you expect ,that's the norm for

most TV members.

This is all far too funny.

Embarrassing  to so many i would add.

The nonsense thread 'intellectual whore', then the attempted  follow up to it ,then the 1st meeting at a bar thread, which was closed and now this one with old E/S getting all bent out of shape because his suggestion for a venue was ignored and mostly the same posters feeding frenzy on all threads i mentioned,  and others, acting like prize #*#@*^%would guarantee that many posters would stay right away from anything remotely connected with these people.

It's too difficult of a decision for me to choose from the two options of Number 1 Bar or No. 1 Bar.

I'll leave it to the Intellectual Whores to decide!

It's a good choice though, Number 1:

* Lot of space available

* Quiet enough for conversation

* Respectable enough

* Food available

* Nearby lots of other bars for those wanting to move on later.

* Even some free parking available at Number 1, and more (paid) parking for 40 Baht just before Soi 1 on the right hand side.

Of the other serious options I suppose Red Lion is the most sensible one.

Possibly;  personally I took it as an homage to the US election.

I voted for Number One.

And low turnout, equal split.  Exciting.

Nate Silver said No. 1 can't possibly win but I'm taking him with a grain of salt nowadays.

Thanks for the recommendation. I looked it up, sounds great and I will try it. Have driven past hundreds of times. Too busy driving to notice - driving and sightseeing is not a good idea in Chiang Mai.

I wonder if female TVF members will wish to attend a social function at a bar on a street that is best known for prostitution, or is this a male only affair and/or am I bing overly sensitive?

Aye right. These signs are posted in most parks and nobody gives a "insert your own word here" and as far as enforced.... they neither know, nor care...

I think Mr stament might just be struggling a wee bit in kicking this off as there is newborn in the house and he is racking more air miles than Prince Andrew.

He will be flying out for work commitments within the next few days with a turnaround of a couple of weeks before returning back to Chiang Mai the day before our arrival. He will only be there a little over a week before taking his two eldest overseas for a break.

It is no wonder that a calendar date does not match the named weekday.

Almost worthy of a "Carry On" script.

We on the other hand are more fortunate, Opal, myself and scouse sister Linda will be staying at the Suriwongse with the Terrace on its doorstep and in fundamental holiday mode.

An ideal stepping off point to any venue East of the moat to meet some of the TV keyboard dancers in a physical environment, if this floats your boat.

Mr Chiang Mai raised a valid point about hostesses and an all inclusive consideration.

Number 1 bar also has a large selection of drinks available

I want to bring my food cart, my dog and my gun, okay?

The third from the bottom could possibly the clincher for any TV members getting together in a park from Daves photo.

No arguing / shouting ?
