I was at the intersection of Mahidol rd and the old Lamphun rd the other day, the light turned green for south bound traffic and 12 of the first 14 riders had helmets on. It used to be the exception to see anyone with a helmet, if the checks are responsible, keep doing them.
January 31, 20179 yr Baby steps I know but having a helmet that is a construction hat, military helmet, or little more than a cap, or with the structural integrity of an ice cream container baffles me no end. People are wearing cheap helmets, that I sometimes think would cause more damage in an accident, so as to avoid a fine rather than any concern for safety. Far better to have rigorous enforcement AND a mandatory minimum standard of helmet if there were genuine concern rather than a tea money exercise.
