Also *777 gives you access to a selection of complex packages, listen to each in detail before you commit yourself.

I just tried *777 and if you opt for English, listen to all the news about the new '8' number changes, it DOES give you the option to listen to each package in detail.

They do have some very good packaces at the moment, its a question of understanding the terms and conditions.

So which plans are people choosing and why?

It's funny but the deafault program is "Freedom Time" but there is no description of that plan? Maybe because the per minute charges of 4,5 and 8 baht are quite high. :o (There is a "Freedom Fun" plan).

I am using "Sure Sure", 5 baht per minute for the first minute, 25 satang for each subsequent minute, to any phone, any time. The plan is due to expire on 31 Dec. but may be extended.

I also have a monthly recurring GPRS package, 25 hours for 107 baht.

It pays to review the promotions at the begining of each month.

*138 is used for SMS, MMS and GPRS (& combo) packages

*777 is used for calling plan (& combo) packages

*141 is used to register for voicemail

*14949 is used for voicemail instructions

*99 is used to access voicemail

You can call 1175 or 02 271 9000 for customer service, in my experience they are incredibly responsive and helpful They always follow up with a call to see if everything is OK. You can also email them at [email protected] and they are very detailed in their responses. I am sure they would email you the details of the current promotions if you asked them.

Here is what i got from AIS

details fo current promotions for december 2549

  • 8 months later...

Right now when calling *777 it only lists one promotion

called "un un" or something

2 Baht / min to AIS customers

4 Baht / min to other phones

Does any other prepaid service offer a cheaper promotion for long calls at the moment, like 25 or 50 satang per minute?

Try a Telewiz shop and say you want to put your phone on to a cheap prepaid call package. When I recently got AIS for mobile internet the girl set up phone for me and was going to put me on a call package as you mention above, I told her I was paying only 1 Bt/min on True, so she set me up on something like 2 or 3 Bt for first minute on any call then 50 St for additional minutes. However, I only use this phone for internet, so don't really know the details.
