Speaking of useful idiots and the attention economy point I made yesterday, where spectacle is valued above substance, this does seem to be a framework you already understand very well. The reason I say that is simple. You seem to have a habit of waiting for those quiet stretches when activity in the pub drops off and very few new threads appear for a few days. That is usually when you make your move and suddenly release a cluster of four or five topics at once, as you did yesterday. It gives the strong impression that these are not posts you are making organically in the moment, but posts you have been holding back until the timing best serves you. The obvious advantage, of course, is that you get to stack the forum's front page so that several of the newest threads are yours at the same time. It is a transparent attempt to dominate attention by high post volume when you apparently do not trust the individual merits of your posts to carry them on their own. In other words, you seem every bit as familiar with the mechanics of the attention economy as anyone else. As for whether there is much actual value in what you are posting, I suspect others would dispute that rather strongly. If the substance were doing the work, after all, there would be no need to stage manage the timing so carefully for maximum visibility.
