Malay grass is nearly industructable.          (I mean impossible to kill) So yes, it can handle all kind of torture.

Maybe it will turn brown, but that is only temporally. It will recover in a few days, one week maximum.

I have an area that luckily is behind a flowering hedge that is not in view and has become the loo for for the two dogs, both female, and it does get some heavy use.

Female dog pee must be like industrial strength acid and the grass there has been virtually killed off. I will buy a few turfs of Malay and maybe section it off until it's well rooted and see how that goes.

I have had Malay grass in Ban Chang for the last 6 years and I can confirm that dog Pee from my 2 female dogs does kill it. I try to pour water on the area where the dogs pee when I put them in the garden which minimises the impact.

Agree. The older grass that has been in situ for longer seems to pick up during the very heavy rainy season. I had some re-laid about 6 months ago and kept the dogs off for 2 months..........as soon as they started to pee on it however it went patchy very quickly. Watering it twice a day helps.

Sounds like back to the drawing board for the dogs loo.

There was a thread (not sure how long ago - maybe 6-9 months?)  where a poster was extolling the virtues of artificial grass and from memory he too had dogs?
