snoop1130 Posted March 9, 2017 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Bangkok’s CCTV cameras aimed at criminals By Tanatpong Kongsai The Nation Bangkok’s CCTV cameras, which have been primarily used for traffic control, will be utilised more effectively to fight crime, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA). The move was initiated as three government agencies Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding. CCTV footage will be linked and used in crime prevention in line with a Cabinet resolution calling for the state, the private sector and the public to cooperate to reduce crime. BMA deputy permanent secretary Pichai Kriengwatanasiri said the city’s CCTV system had proved useful in arresting criminals.
