I'm getting a little confused. I wish to apply for a visit visa for my wife. I understand its now a called a Standard Visitor Visa. Which is valid for 6 months. I understand that I can apply on line from here in the UK, and then book an appointment for her at VFS, at the Trendy building in BKK.

However I cant seem to find the correct website on GOV.UK or VFS Glodal to start doing anything, just going form site to site chasing my own tail........anyone any knowledge of applying form the UK ???

Cheers David

Thanks CharlieH, these are the two sites which are taking me around in circles....they give the impression there is an online form, to start the ball rolling and then book the apointment, for the scans and documentation eg bank statements ect.........

Yes, the Standard Visit Visa now encompasses most visa types, including those for a family visit.

Since the right of appeal was withdrawn for the Family Visit visa there is no advantage using this sub category.

As well as the links in the previous post, start with the VFS one, you might want to glance through the pinned topic

Yes, the application has to be made and paid for online, once the application has been submitted the applicant has to make an appointment to attend the Visa Application Centre near Asoke to hand in the supporting documentation and have their biometric details captured.
