Used burlap bags in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi, I am interested to use burlap bags for erosion control mats and as weed control The area involved only gets the force of the rainfall, no slope sending water at them. Also to be used to grow cover plants in between and through holes in the bags. I have sourced new bags, but prefer old bags used for some agricultural product. Suggestions or comments welcome.

Rice farmers will be buying new 'burlap' (jute) sacks every year. They generally get repaired and re-repaired until they are useless, I'm sure any farmer would be happy to sell old sacks to the crazy farang. Price? Dunno.

Thanks for clarifying that what I want is jute. Wasn't sure if they used them for rice still, have seen them used with cassava and to pack durian.

At 6 baht per kilo don't look for any new bags again this year.:post-4641-1156694572:

I used to buy burlap sacks from a local ice shop in Sanpeesua, Chiang Mai. Cant remember price.

We have a large buyer  of maize  near  here ,  they also  sell  seed and fertilizer  ect , plus   rice sacks  they  are  sold     for 10 baht each .

Should  be a  shop near you  selling the same .
