Just wondering if someone could send me a pm/ referring me to a reliable customs agent for importing some basic households items such as beds, desk, books computer... nothing dramatic to import. Most of it - is all basic goods.

Thanks.

Why on earth do you want to import basic furniture???

Total waste of time and money, after you have paid for an agent, paid customs dues etc, it would be cheaper and easier to buy new here.

We looked for a way to ship things to Thailand before we moved here and we found the cost of a crate was over $2,000 at that time. That's over 60,000 baht which can buy a lot in Thailand. We also had the voltage difference issue. We shipped a 24" x 24" box through a Thai friend-agent in the US for $120 with things that made our luggage overweight. It was cheaper than the airline luggage fees and it took almost 3 months. Everything else we sold, gave to someone, or trashed. Shopping new was fun. I do miss all my tools and equipment.

Maybe I have the luxury to afford wasting money. Did you ever think of that?

How would you be wasting money????

Follow my advice and you will save a bucket full of money.

Sell your furniture in your home country, buy new here.

No agents fees, no customs fees, no hassle, easy.

Maybe he has quality made comfortable furniture which is unavailable in thailand. I know if I had the money I would import everything in my house instead of the cheap crap they sell here even at the so called good stores.
