I follow JS100 (@JS100radio) on Twitter; they send out a current radar snapshot for metro Bangkok every 30 minutes (or more frequently during inclement weather), seems very accurate and current and useful for me in Bangkok. It comes from a different source than TMD, AFAICT. They also provide tweets for traffic issues,

In android playstore, try the app listed as( 1weather). I find it to be pretty good with animations, at the top skip over to radar, or skip the page to radar page.

On the(1weather) app on Android playstore, when you go to the radar, give it about 15 seconds to let it load, or pause it to see present radar,
