An enraged wife who crashed her new Toyota Fortuner into a Mercedes carrying her husband and his mistress in Pathum Thani on Saturday has not taken any responsibility in regards to third-party victims who sustained injuries and property damage, two victims said on Monday.

The unnamed wife crashed into the Mercedes-Benz carrying her husband and his mistress after pursuing them in Pathum Thani’s Thanyaburi district on Saturday afternoon, damaging three other cars and injuring six.

One victim, PhD student and Thailand Science Park researcher Peerapong Boonchuay, 39, who is being treated at Bangpakok Hospital Rangsit, said he and five friends were returning from Nakhon Nayok in a car heading towards their homes in Rangsit when the crash occurred.

He suffered a head injury and sought hospital treatment, he said adding that the woman who reportedly caused the accident had not contacted him to express responsibility and that he would let police handle the case.

Another victim, Sukhon Karasang, 24, whose Toyota Avanza car was hit, said she was driving in the far left lane at a normal speed when the Toyota Fortuner rammed into her vehicle’s front left side.

Sukhon said she saw the woman who drove the Toyota Fortuner after the accident and shouted at her for causing the crash.

She also said the woman admitted to being behind the wheel and said she would take responsibility for the damage. “But that’s all. So far, neither the woman nor an insurance company has contacted me,” she said, adding that she had also testified to police about what had happened.

Thanyaburi police investigator Pol Lt-Colonel Boonying Bunditthai said police on Monday morning interviewed three drivers involved in the incident, including the driver of the Mercedes, Sukhon and an unnamed driver in the morning, but the woman driving the Toyota Fortuner had not talked to police.

I don't want to sound like one of the many Thai bashers on this forum but this is simply Thainess at it's worst.

I am gonna have to disagree with you there, because I think this is pretty much everyday Thainess, business as usual.

Stupidity, immaturity and lack of responsibility? Yep! Check list complete.

The enraged wife's insurance will not be paying anyone out.  It was a deliberate crash not an accident.  The enraged wife IS responsible for all damage and injury...... simple case closed.  They should make her empty the bank, sell her house, business if she has one and all her possessions.  She needs to pay up.  Even with that it might not be enough.  She should also be locked up for a period of time and charge with reckless driving, dangerous driving, causing injury, could even go as far as attempted murder.

Why should she run around talking to the people she has damaged, this will go it's bureaucratic way, police, insurance company, filed claims etc. I would be surprised if the insurance company didn't demand the money paid out back from her as this was intent, at the very least it was 'without due care and attention'

she needs to be arrested and charged for culpable driving, her actions had a high chance of  causing death and the car has to be considered a weapon in this case as she drove it at another car deliberately with no concern for anyone else that were caught up in it. The police need to actually take action against her, shows how pathetic thai law enforcement is if they do nothing and just laugh it off. They really need to throw the book at her, jail time, seizing of assets etc, people need to learn hey cannot do this sort of crap with no come back on them no matter how important they think they are.
