Moving to Pattaya - Would like advice on UK TV programmes provider

Recommended Posts

Shortly moving to Pattaya and I would like to be able to watch the various UK TV programmes.  Understand Thai-expatTV  is no more.  I heard that there are providers such as Kodi etc but not being IT literate have not got the first idea of how I would install it.  Can anyone please offer some advice as to my best option.

Thank you

Kodi is not a provider, its a software package, it can be used to watch your own movies or to access free content on the internet. a lot of the content isnt legal.

There are lots of options for cable and satellite TV with UK content, depends how much you want to spend.

In some condo blocks you may be restricted to only one provider.

Silence (mostly) as those with various free UK TV services scrabble around to find alternatives since it appears more than a few have lost their UK channels.

I am interested since I was a thaiexpattv subscriber but there's no point in paying anyone a subscription if they inevitably don't have the UK channels.

I too am Kodi challenged but found a couple of easy to follow articles through a google search, one of them from a UK online PC magazine. Not a priority right now for me but interested to see what comes up from the experts here as there does seem to be some entity challenging the illegal access to these channels right now and it's not necessarily a Thai entity either.

FWIW, a mod may lock this thread since legal aspects as they impact the forum and its users are up for administrator review. All other similar threads in the AV forum were locked yesterday for this reason.

Yes, it appears to be reasonably up to date as the guy has recently done an update.

Have a look through the locked threads in the AV forum, the options are still visible just please don't discuss them.

Chatted with a acquaintance tonight that has been in Thailand a long time and runs couple of successful restaurants and hotels. He recommends Nitro. About 900 baht/month.

May I recommend Youtube, where you can view almost anything you wish? But if you're totally hooked on up-to-the minute British TV..maybe moving abroad not a good idea.

My nine year-old simply loves YouTube.

He reckons the local broadcast television is rubbish.
