Looking for a little advice please. I retired here a couple of years ago and, upon receiving my 12 month extension to stay visa, got my 2 year provisional driving license. So, my visa is due for renewal on 3rd of July (when I would of course request a residence certificate), but my license expires on 24th June.

If the Immigration office was close, then I would do 2 trips, but at about an hour each way, I would rather not. My wife is concerned that we could have a problem if stoped by the police during the period between license expiry and renewal. I do still have a valid foreign license which I could show, but I would prefer to be completely legal as it would stop my wife worrying.

So, is there a legitimate period between license expiry and renewal, or, should I anticipate my annual visa renewal by 14 days to ensure license remains valid during the transition from provisional to full. Any other options please?

Thanking you in advance for your advice.
