Obstruction of justice, anyone?

Schiff: The case that Trump obstructed justice just got stronger

The New York Times’s blockbuster new report last night adds extensive new detail to our understanding of just how far President Trump and the White House went to try to derail the probe into Russian sabotage of our election and possible Trump campaign conspiracy with those efforts.

The new information also strengthens the obstruction-of-justice case against Trump and the White House, Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, told me in an interview this morning.

Trump’s much-hyped ‘job boom’ is fake news: 2017 was the worst year for job creation since 2011

During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump promised he’d be the “greatest jobs president God ever created.” And as his administration has become increasingly embroiled in scandal during the first year of his presidency, Trump has routinely fallen back on bragging about the allegedly unbelievable job creation he’s overseen.

Impeachment should happen but it doesn't because of the complicit ones in the republican party.

Yeah thats just not true.

Wasn't impeachment recently tabled (killed) with majority democrat support?

Why yes, yes it was.

Quote

A bipartisan majority of legislators voted to "table," or kill, the articles of impeachment introduced by Representative Al Green of Texas. One hundred and twenty-seven of the 194 Democrats in the House voted to table the resolution.

Because the democrats know there won't be any republican votes and the republicans control the house overwhelmingly. The only party now with the power to check the dangerous clown potus is the republicans and they have failed because they're acting like this is normal. SHAME on them. History will judge them harshly.

Yeah thats just not true either.

Democrats could have easily voted en-masse and sent a political point, but they literally and overwhelmingly folded when confronted with what they've been absolutely WAILING about since day 1. Impeachment.

Fact is there just isnt anything to impeach him over. Hurt feelings & tweets arent a reason.

There is plenty to impeach him over and the republicans know that too.

So either the Democrats like Trump or they are waiting to take a take the vote when they can make a stronger impact than a mere 'political point'. Probably should  wait til the investigation pans out and things run their course before jumping to conclusions.

Literally the definition of a straw man argument.

I never said that, you made it up. Literally the definition of a Strawman Argument.

Quote

A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

But I would agree, maybe we (I mean you, and seemingly 90% of the posters in this thread) should "wait until the investigation is finished" before wailing about impeachment.

End of the day, right now, there isnt anything to impeach him over. Nada.

He's been president less than one year. To say it's amazing that he's still president after less than one year is like giving a rave review to bad actor for remembering his lines.

But I can see you think he's some kind of victim.

Maybe that's a trumpist thing to relate to him personally that way.

I can't relate to that.

The democrats had an opportunity to show their disapproval, and their support for impeachment, but they didn't take it???   Because they knew the Republicans wouldn't vote for it??    Instead they voted with the Republicans agains impeachment??    You have to be kidding JT!!!

Let's look at the cases presented for and against impeachment / criminal charges:

For:

"Since taking over the investigation, Mueller's team has charged four people once affiliated with the Trump campaign or administration"

Paul Manafort, former campaign chairman

Rick Gates, former Manafort business partner and campaign deputy

George Papadopolous, former campaign adviser

Michael Flynn, former national security advisor

http://www.businessinsider.com/who-has-been-charged-in-russia-investigation-mueller-trump-2017-12/#george-papadopoulos-a-former-trump-campaign-adviser-3

Against:

He's still president after (almost) one year!

He says he's sane!

You know, that whole thingy.

There is certainly ample evidence that he either knowingly hires shady people or isn't smart enough to check out the people he puts in key positions.

Yeah certainly ample evidence that your feelings arent grounds for impeachment of the United States President.

You know, that whole logic thingy.

I never expected the man to be impeached because he's repulsive (if you don't believe that, watch the video of his first cabinet meeting   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ARgUIpM6f0).

I expected him to be impeached for incompetence, mental instability, violation of the emoluments clause, and a long history of financial crimes--tax evasion, sanctions busting, money laundering, etc.

Just let the investigation run its course.  You know, that rule of law thingy.

Quite a change from a few months back when impeachment was imminent, then criminal charges, then the slammer, etc.  Continually hoping something will happen doesn't make it happen.

I note a moderation of those views, he's probably not going to be impeached, not likely in the next year or so, all the way down to 'let the investigation run its course'.   That's happening, but it won't result in him being impeached.

I love it how you guys screech about impeachment but when cornered with the truth of the matter (Not a damn thing to impeach him over) you get all:

Yeah sure, maybe you guys ought of take a little bit of your own medicine. And by "a little bit" I mean just down the whole bottle.

You know, that whole cataclysmic, space-time-warping hypocrisy thingy you guys do so well.
