2nd hand motorbike!

As mentioned in the title... Im looking to buy a motorbike... Ive had scooters in the past but Im bored of them now... I want a fairly bigger bike thats noob friendly for learners like myself either 150 -250cc price ranging from 20-50k. As for model, I dont rearly care as long as the bike is sturdy and in good condition... suggestions much appreciated! anywhere in bkk is fine..

First I would say if you are a inexperienced then its not a good idea to learn to ride in Bangkok at the same time as adapting to traffic culture. 

 

But OK, the 125s (Honda wave etc) are great in wet weather coz of leg protection and have under-seat storage and a very handy basket is fitted, manual gears but no hand clutch (its built into the gear change mechanism).

 

I personally would buy the Honda Dream if available 110-125, one of the best motorcycles ever made IMO, buttery smooth ride and quite torquey for its size, and a long model run so parts are plentiful. Or if a more conventional motorcycle is what you want the Suzuki gd110 looks ok too.

You seem to know your stuff. What's your thoughts on the Honda Click 125?

hey Bikeman thanks for ur reply! you do seem to know ur stuff about bikes. do u know any good websites that sell 2nd hand ones?

The Click is a scooter rather than being a motorcycle, in that its fully automatic and the engine/transmission is not suspended (it follows the contours of the road).Maybe better if you are learning but for higher speeds and on bumpy or dirt roads the smaller wheels give a rougher ride. They are a smaller in size overall too. The Honda Air Blade is the best version of these types of scooter.

Fully automatic is more complicated, less durable (but still OK) and maybe not able to clutch start. Many people cant ride a manual motorcycle whether that's good or bad depends on your situation.

 

As for websites I don't know, just do online search see what comes up.
