BANGKOK: -- Netizens applaud “Loong Dum,” a homeless man selling limes by the Mo Chit BTS station to raise money for a stray cat.

The sign on his stand says, “20 baht per bag, profits will pay for stray cat’s food expenses.”

Warunya Wattanasupachoke, who publicized his story online, revealed to Daily News that it was only yesterday that she met him at the walking overpass close to Chatuchak. Seeing the sign, she walked over to buy some for herself and discovered that Loong Dum’s lime supply had been provided by a well-wishing citizen who did not charge him any money.

Both dogs and cats can have rabies, but cats are more likely to just run away. Feeding hungry animals is always an admirable thing. Stray animals should be fixed by a vet if you want to decrease their numbers, not starved to death.

Indeed. I have yet to see a cat run up to people and start growling at them. Never seen one bite the leg of a passer-by either.

How about getting them neutered instead?

Good idea, to get them neutered. Today I just posted a question, asking if anyone knew the phone number of the Pattaya animal clinic, but havent had a reply. They have free neutering service all summer, but seems to be a secret as to where its at,  its at a different Wat  every week.
