BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has warned the police and the media to exercise caution in their treatment of the female suspects in the grisly murder of a bar girl in a way which can be mistaken as glorifying the suspects.

Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said, during the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the prime minister complained that some policemen over their improper conduct in the treatment of the three female suspects in police custody.

He quoted the prime minister as saying that the officials should have known what should be done or should not be done in their treatment of the suspects even though it was not prohibited by law.

One of the suspects, Ms Preeyanut Nonewangchai, was seen sitting next to a plainclothes policeman smiling with her face covered with white makeup while the other two suspects were seen smoking at a police station. The images showing the three suspects went viral in the social media and drew widespread criticism against both the police and the suspects.

Thai people have this insatiable appetite for the gory, sordid and macabre details

of anything to do with sex, money, love triangle and murder, and that

case has plenty of it and I think the media will milk it for all they can and

expect a TV soap opera to made of it as we speak...

Didn't you also order the police to stop re-enactments of crimes? How's that working out?

Good to know they didn't do anything illegal. They were just being pig ignorant. Still, remind me to steer clear of any police stations holding confessed psychopathic murderers lounging around with no handcuffs. That could be a dangerous place to be.

Two questions:

Is this really part of the job description for a PM?

Did he throw the Rambutan peel at the unruly media?

The "all mighty" PM has a free hand to comment on anything and everything he chooses to do,no-one here in LOS is as wise or knowledgeable :whistling:

Just don,t try asking him about the cop killer "Boss" or  the rambutan peel will be heading in your direction :cheesy:
