PM stresses transparency among officials as country named more competitive by IMD

 

BANGKOK, 12 June 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has urged government officials to uphold to transparency as the country received an improved competitiveness score from IMD, calling upon the general public changes to the country can start with oneself. 

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has delivered his message to all government officials to uphold transparency and honest as work ethics, as the government's attempt to tackle corruption has improved Thailand's score in the World Justice Project (WJP), International Country Risk Guide (ICRG), and a better competitiveness ranking by the IMD World Competitiveness Center. 

"Evaluation scores from each agencies are the result of the government's efforts and the perception towards the authority, particularly in the perspective of businesses which are required to be in contact with government offices. 

"Thailand has successfully proceeded to pass laws to establish as special criminal court handling corruption cases, punish government officials related to corruption, the suppression of bribery, and introducing the ethical contract to be signed as part of the contract for big projects. 

"The Prime Minister has called all sectors to be vigilant and not tolerating corruption, in order to prevent it from being perceived as a normal thing in the society," says spokesman. 

The Prime Minister also said society has high expectations from government officials to be responsible to the general public, thus government officials must work for the benefits of the general public, not for their connections or persons with influence. 

He has said all troubles in the society must be solved with facts and morality, and encourage the general public to believe that all positive changes start with themselves, from gaining new knowledge and develop themselves, not tolerating wrong things, and that strong communities will help improve the country. Improvement can happen without solely relying on politicians or authoritative figures.

do as i say, dont do as i do. about due for another announcement about sticking to the roadmap. would be more interested in knowing what the roadmap is, or finding out when there will actually be an election.

Changes start with oneself; does that mean he will finally explain where his wealth came from and if he was in conspiracy with Suthep to overthrow the government years before the coup?

 

Or does this only apply to "less equal" people?

He is truly delusional if thinks he is the pillar of ethics and transparency.  One does wonder though if he actually believes what he is spewing or he is in on the ruse. 

Like the "Thailand being 20th most dangerous country", it's based on old data....or is it cherry picking again:)

if you stress something too much, stress fractures will appear affecting the transparency of stuff you are stressing.

In other words, don't stress out; transparency is what it is, officials are what they are, the BiB is whatever they wanna be...

The public should stand up and say "PROVE IT" which funnily enough is the response of most officials when questioned about their own involvement in corruption. Then a smurk a huff and a roll of the eyes follows like your the worlds most annoying person to question such superior human beings.... 

 

Criminals, all of them. 

 

The day i see one of my local officials dragged off ill believe it. Untill then keep on with the bs reports...

How many corrupt officials have been punished,and I dont mean just transferred,how many went to jail,

with 1000's of cases pending,i expect a lot of alleged criminals will die before they see the inside of a court.

Tell us, dear PM. in all transparency, what did happen to the good Police Colonel from Thonglor station who rushed to the house of Red Bull calf cop killer the morning of, not to arrest but to offer advice? He figured in the headlines as a testament to notoriously despicable actions by the RTP, but then the reporting dried up very quickly... and avid readers were deprived of closure, once again.

Until the very day that the tanks rolled and troops marched into the streets, Prayut assured Thais and the world that the military would not interfere in Thailand's Constitutional democratic processes. Transparency begins with honesty and under Prayut it has only been a work in progress.

"Transparency" so long as it does not uncover corruption? 

 

When does the country get accountability and responsibility as well from its leaders, politicians and public servants? Nah, I was just dreaming, sorry. Me bad.
