I would be very worried if I held her position.

She is highly respected within the Thai society. Outsiders don't understand the ways.

Yesterday, the suggestion Thailand was dangerous, was supposed to be out of date news. Bad information and all that.

Today, they admit, you can come here, be robbed, stabbed, shot, run over, raped, ripped off,  murdered or just plain set up by the cops, but "We have Cookies, and they're good!"

I add, that if the Thai minister of tourism, isn't worried about Thailand, rightfully in my mind, being named as seriously dangerous, she bloody well should be.

None of them are worried about the dangers here for tourists, which is blatantly obvious due to a useless police force and rampant mafia ....nor are they worried that the airport has been named amongst the worst 10 globally....criticism of Thailand is always incorrect!

I could go one better and say "They Dont Care About THAILAND"

Things said like that should get these idiots fired. Whats wrong with the criminals here. They are proud of it? Best change the brochures then.

There is non so blind, as those that cannot see!

Absolutely! But then would you trust an organisation that claims annual tourist arrivals as 34 million - when much more reliable international sources calculate it to be more like 25 million?

However, it is not just TAT that is blind to the ills of Thailand - rampant crime and corruption has revealed by numerous sources (including the recent WEP study, New York Times and John Stapleton's book) are immediately downplayed and dismissed by Thai authorities. Its one thing to be blind to these issues - but a completely different matter to be utterly deluded.

Like ostriches, bury their heads in the sand and it all goes away!  The only problem is finding some sand on the beach amongst all the rubbish.

Kobkran is not an asset but one of the worst liabilities this country's public relation has.

Replace her immediately and put an expert into her seat; she's ready for looking after grand children and Likae (ลิเก), the old art of musical folks drama.

Don't forget honest taxi drivers.

Thailand is relatively safe, if you don't go looking for trouble.

I feel safe walking around in the middle of the night for instance.

Can't say the same for other countries...

when it comes to international criticisms, thais go into denial

And people like you always love having a stab at Thais, I wonder why that is the case?
