Isuzu 2014 Dmax trouble starting

Featured Replies

2014 isuzu Dmax deisel Vcross 4wd. 50000km. Recently had a service and noticed the starter laboring when starting. Should've gone straight back but didn't think much of it. Go out this morning and won't start. Wipers everything seem strong but just getting a tick tick tick from the starter motor. Went through some pretty deep water / rain yesterday so maybe didn't help. I was gonna spray the starter motor or electrics but can't see anything.

Any suggestions? Could it be possible the battery has gone already after 2.5 years or more likely a water problem?

Battery.....All your low amp stuff will work, the starter amp "pull" on your ride is huge...

Is it likely the battery is rooted after 2 and half years and 50000ks? I thought would get better than that in a warm climate but maybe deisel harder on batteries?

My Vigo.....2 x 2 years L/acid, 1 x 3 years sealed, now on 2.8 years on L/acid lifting the hood when l get home to get rid of heat...

No, first and second were genuine Toyota L/acid, third sealed, now on the fourth which is a L/acid..

To put it simply, how long should I expect from my sealed battery that came with the new vehicle. It's 2.5 years old

Depends on usage and heat. If you do lots of short runs and starting it has it's toll on the battery, but heat is a battery killer, that's why l experimented with lifting the hood to get rid of it...So far my theory has worked.

Generally how long should a factory battery last. Mainly short trips and we're in Isaan. ..so hot

There really is no guaranteed battery longevity, depends on usage and under hood heat. All I do is short trips and lots of starting hence mine don't last long.
