BANGKOK, 29 June 2017 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha says issues concerning the primary vote system will be resolved eventually, confirming that the matter will not postpone the next general election.

The premier claimed there are no conflicts over the proposed primary vote system and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. He also dismissed concerns that the government would set up its own political party to run for the next election.

As for the national reform process, Gen Prayut said it would not be hampered because only a few members of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) and the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) are expected to resign from their posts to seek office in the next election.

Regarding the National Strategies Act and the Reform Procedures Act, the Prime Minister said he isn't worry about politicians asking the Constitutional Court to review the legality of both laws.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Thailand has instructed a responsible committee to study the organic Political Party Act to see if the law contains clauses that violate the constitution and give its notion to the NLA within 15 days.

Rather...elections will be delayed because of other issues. And…will take place someday...when the general is confident they can be completely and totally rigged.
