One killed, two severely injured in trailer head-on collision in Chon Buri
By The Nation

One driver’s wife was killed early Wednesday when two 18-wheel trailer trucks collided head-on in Chon Buri’s Si Racha district. Both drivers were injured.

Police said the accident occurred on Mab Hing-Laem Chabang Road near the Hemmaraj 2 Industrial Estate.

The front of both trucks, a Hino and a Nissan, were crushed in the collision.

Somsak Prempreeda, 49, driving the Hino, and his wife Wassana, 45, were hurled through the windshield.

The woman died at the scene while the drivers were rushed to hospital.

Police said the driver of the Nissan, Boonmee Im-aim, 50, was apparently trying to overtake another vehicle when his truck struck Somsak’s Hino head-on.

Every time I see these trucks, they are driving too fast! Frightening to see.

I see many vehicles driving way too fast everyday for no reason.  I suppose that's why Thailand is the 2nd most dangerous place in the world to drive, 1st if you just count motorbikes.

EXCEPT.... On hills or upgrades when they are in front of me.................

Somsak Prempreeda, 49, driving the Hino, and his wife Wassana, 45, were hurled through the windshield.

You mean that their seat belts didn't prevent this...........?

They either drive too fast or too slow, but patience, or the lack of it, is the keyword here.

Good it was 2 trucks colliding and not a minivan full of kids.   Trucks are one of the deadliest weapons in Thailand.   I try to keep a distance , not easy .
