Thai lic renewal 2yrs temp to 5yrs

Featured Replies

I was told if i let my 2yr temp lic expire before i renew to the 5yr lic i would get over 5yrs as it starts at my next birthday, can anyone verify this please.

Not sure about the temp 2yr licence but certainly is correct when renewing the 5 year licence, going a day after your birthday (which is also the expiry date) gets you 6 years instead of 5.

When I went to get my 5 year licence I was told there had been a change and I could only have a 2 year licence. A year later I went to get an International bike licence, so I could ride a big bike in Europe (I never passed a bike test there) and was told I needed a 5 year licence. I first bought my five year licence and then the international one.

I didn't ask why I couldn't have a 5 year licence last year...life is too short for that sort of question.

Thank's for clearing up why I received 6 years last time I renewed. I thought it was me being calendar challenged,
