Hi everyone,

I'm sure these are simple questions to some but I am confused and truly grateful for your assistance.

I am a UK national staying in Thailand on a visa extension due to retirement.

In October I plan to take a 5 day trip to Vietnam and a separate 5 day trip to Myanmar. Do I need visas to enter both countries?

Which is the best way of obtaining visas for these countries (if necessary)?

Very many thanks!

Until 30 June 2018 ‘British Citizen’ passport holders travelling for tourism or business can enter Vietnam for up to a maximum of 15 days (inclusive of dates of entry and exit) without a visa.

Visas for Myanmar are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above. All nationals listed in the chart above are eligible to apply online for an eVisa. You must enter at Myanmar at Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw or Mandalay international airports or at Tachileik, Myawaddy or Kawthaung land border checkpoints.

Thank you Midas, so your advice is Vietnam NO, Myanmar YES...?

but note you have to leave a gap between each visa free entry for Vietnam - about 6 months from memory
