Proof of address.

Featured Replies

Am applying for new passport.

Everything I have just none to sure what proof of address to use.

Do have a Yellow married book that seems to work for D/Licence.

Does anyone know if it'll be OK for Passport renewal.

What nationality are you? Might help to find other members with experience.

I have registered my address with my embassy as soon as I moved here and don't remember that I had to supply a document.

And I did not need a proof address for my new passport last year.

Thank you for your swift reply. UK Passport. Yes foreigners yellow house book.

That you can get once married?

Have tried the UK embassy but they as most know are useless, and the Visa office you have to get your passport from won't give any info either.

I have read all the info on what's needed old passport, application form, Payment form, photos, just one page I read said address conformation.

You actually don't need proof of address, you can provide proof of residency.  If you are on an extension of stay that is apparently good enough (as has been reported here several times before).

the website states you need one of the following:

Please provide one of the following:
• visa or resident permit (or colour photocopy)
• tax record eg a letter from a tax authority
• educational record eg school report
employment record eg o cial letter from your employer
• letter sent to you from a central, regional or local government department • medical/health card
• voter’s card
• immigration documents.

In practice my AIS home broadband bill was enough

B/Band bill is in the wife's name.

But have now sorted it. New rules states that for proof of address you need as above.

Cannot except anything in Thai has to be translated in English by recognised translation place.

Yellow book ok once translated.

As luck would have it received a letter from my UK bank today with name and Thai address on it that'll do nicely.

Big thank you to all that bothered to reply. Am off to BKK on the 9th hopefully all will be fine. I will update if there is any change.
