Awning material sought

Featured Replies

I want to buy 3m x 3m of good quality striped canvas for an outdoor awning in Chiang Mai. Waterproof and UV resistant. Can anybody suggest a supplier in Chiang Mai (but not necessarily)

Pretty hard to find anything UV treated here.  Most awning stuff Ive seen is normally some sort of vinyl that will last maybe 8 months max.

Im sure they use that stuff on purpose as you will need to get replacements often...therefore more money in their back pocket.

Alternatively there is a place that does sail type sun shades out of town and heading towards Mae Rim.  I dont remember the name of the place but go on the main road North as if youre heading to Mae Rim.  At the intersection outside the womens prision you will need to turn right...so take the turn off to the left (free turn).  This will take you on the road towards Meechock Plaza.

But dont go that far... once you a through the underpass and about 500 metres on the right is the place you should be looking for.  You will have to go a bit further to do a U Turn and come back to the place. Im sure their materials are UV treated.  And not surprisingly they will; cost more than he other rubbish on the market.

Good luck
