I didn’t know this Grok Yes, California allows non-citizens to become police officers under specific conditions. Senate Bill 960, effective January 1, 2023, removed the requirement for police officers to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have applied for citizenship. Instead, individuals must be legally authorized to work in the United States, such as those with valid work permits, including lawful permanent residents (green card holders), asylees, refugees, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) .However, the law does not permit undocumented immigrants to become police officers, as federal law prohibits hiring individuals without legal work authorization. -

I personally believe that good, honest people own up to their mistakes – I try to do it myself where possible, and overcome the barriers of ego, confirmation bias, etc. I'm curious to see who, among those who initially condoned what happened in 2021-2022, is willing to demonstrate what I consider to be highly valuable traits: humility and honesty. -

Easy to blame the city, but the permit process was established to ensure that building problems are prevented. Many of the people complaining have not done what they are supposed to do; One of the biggest problems for many residents is that they were grandfathered in or were given permission to postpone installing proper sewage systems. Pacific Palisades is one of the areas where residents could use a septic system. Unfortunately, those residents did not always maintain their systems, not emptying tanks, and not maintaining drainage. the end result was that raw sewage was a problem in some areas, contaminating the soil and ground water. The dispensations were granted on the undertaking that if there was ever major work, the septic systems would be replaced. Having septic tank systems in Pacific palisades might have worked in 1965. it doesn't work in 2025. Also, many residents have not decontaminated their soil or cleared their debris or surveyed their land. these are all requirements before a building permit can be granted. Holding back a permit is the only way to ensure compliance for soil remediation, otherwise an unscrupulous builder just leaves the contaminated soil or doesn't deal with a debris pile in a timely manner. The survey is needed to protect the land rights of utilities, neighboring properties and public right of ways. The requirement was put into effect because of too many encroachments, where the land owner then argues, ooopsie I made a mistake, so don't make me tear a building down, and drags out the case for years. These bylaws were put into place because of past issues. The public demanded them. Now some people find it inconvenient. Not mentioned, as usual is that many of the building permit requests are incomplete and that people don't even have the financing for the rebuilding. Look at some of the builders implicated. Too many questionable entities who homeowners in desperation have retained, and who are not quality builders. -

This would be a valid take if the initial principle edicted – that the vaccine stops transmisson and has no problematic side effects – had been true. But it isn't the case, as Dr. Redfield himself readily admits (kudos to him for having the humility and intellectual integrity to do that, as these are traits so many people cruelly lack, as is still demonstrated on this forum). And it's not as if the world was discovering these issues now, they have been known for years, albeit confined to the limits of "conspiracy theory". That's the thing, this information was actually known in 2021. When you have the ex-CDC Director, who pushed this vaccine on people in the beginning, now saying what Robert Malone, Sherri Tenpenny or Peter McCullough were saying in 2021, it raises deep, fundamental questions: if these "crazy, dangerous conspiracy theorists and misinformation peddlers" turn out to have been at least partially right, what does it say? About about the political and media apparatus, the power of the pharmaceutical industry over them, the numerous influence peddling schemes which prevent the truth from coming out at all costs, regardless of the consequences (as we are seeing now, with public trust in the authorities being at an all-time low)? And how did we get to the point where people so blindly trust, follow and obey the authorities and media to the point that no amount of rational argumentation or factual demonstrations can have them consider at any point that the "conspiracy theorists" just might be right? Very important questions which can't remain unaddressed. -
