Quality suits at a decent price

Featured Replies

I am looking for a recommendation for a good tailor shop in Bangkok. I know Bangkok has a thousands of tailor shops but I would prefer to go to one recommended by someone who has already used their services. I'm looking for good quality suits for a decent price.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use Crown Tailor about 50 meters down Sukhumvit Soi 8 on the left hand side.

I have always got good service from Mana and his Dad, and they have on occasion made fairly substantial adjustments to my suits as my weight fluctuates, always free of charge.

I am not sure price wise to other good Tailors, but i presume they need to remain competitive to those around them.

I have used Pinky Tailor before as well. To be honest i think the well known ones are all much for muchness in terms of quality and pricing. Crown is just more convenient for me to pop into and i now know the owners well.

I second on Crown Tailors. I hear good things about this shop. I used to live on soi 8, and noticed very satisfied customers coming and going. I will visit them next month for a few custom shirts and pants.

A high-quality suit always comes at a high price due to the quality of the materials and workmanship involved. If you look at the materials in Crown Tailor and then go to the genuine Armani store and take a look at a Giorgio Armani suit, the superior quality of the latter is instantaneously apparent (not just the feel and weight of the material, but also the cut) to anyone with more than half a brain. If you want to find a "quality suit" at a "cheap price", you'll search the world trying to find it and will come up blank. Quality in suits costs money, a lot of money! That's why I only ever wear Giorgio Armani or Ermenegildo Zegna myself, but that's just my opinion. Very expensive? Yes. But totally worth it? Also yes.

First off, I looking for "good quality" suit at a "decent price". I am aware that the better the quality the higher the price.

Second, I am looking for recommendations on a tailor not your opinion on of what brand of suit to wear.

So unless you have a recommendation of a good tailor or the location of your genuine Armani store. I could really care less what kind suits you wear.

I am sure there is a time and a place for those suits, but he was not asking for that. He was asking for good quality at a decent price.

What sort of price range are the suits and shirts at Crown Tailor?

I only wear a suit once a year so more interested in shirts but if the price is right I would be interested.

I use Bangkok Fashions on Suk 11, great guys, great quality. Just had 5 shirts made, all double cuff for 5000 Baht total, and a suit with two trousers for 8300. Again great quality material and cut. Took my wife in last night for a business suit for her, jacket with a skirt and trousers for her was 7800 Baht..

Edit to say the suit with one pair of trousers is 6000 Baht.

What sort of price did you have to pay in Bangkok for your Giorgio Armani and Zegna suits, I'd like to add some to my wardrobe.

Here is a tip for a shop with very good material, it will cost you though.

Next to Conrad Hotel on Wireless road is 2/3 storey shopping arcade.

A shop called dFine on the 2nd floor has very very good fabrics.

Thainess must have forgotten how much he had to pay for his Armani and Zegna suits.

I get my tailored suits and shirts at Pinkys Tailor in Mahatun Plaza. They have a selection of fine materials to suit your price range and they really pay attention to the fine details. I would highly recommend them!

On this subject, what is the best material, taking price/quality value into account for a suit or blazer suited to Bangkok's climate?

Just an aside: why do most Bangkok tailor shops usually seem to have the ugliest imaginable suits in their window displays?
