A man taking a train from Bangkok to visit his girlfriend in Nakhon Ratchasima was found dead beside a railway track in Chaiyaphum early on Saturday, police said.

The body of Jitti Rangrak, 40, was found near Moo 3 village in Tambon Lahan in Chaiyaphum’s Chatturat district at 6.30am. He had apparently fallen from a train.

 

Police checked his phone record and managed to contract his girlfriend, Jimhong Rassamee, 34, who lives in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Bua Yai district.

 

The woman said she received a phone call from Jitti on Friday night, saying he was taking a train from Bangkok to visit her. He was supposed to reach the railway station near her house by 3am, but he failed to turn up.
