Post Finasteride Syndrome

Featured Replies

I took Finasteride 5mg on a doctors advice for a few months... reason prostrate enlargement. My PSA has been 1.5 to 1.6 for years and I have annual checkups and also have had MRI and Ultrasound.

I decided to stop as it made me a bit dizzy on standing and headaches. It didn't really give me other side effects except little came out of the end at certain times ...

So three to four days later I started feeling much more tired and weaker and it is still the case. Whereas in the village pool I could swim previously, alternating crawl and breast stroke, thirty lengths now I struggle after a couple. Anyone else have PFS after stopping ... does it last forever? ...

I googles and PFS is a known problem ...although when I ask Dr 'Dick' about why I seem to have withdrawal symptoms he said 'no have'.   He did get my Total Testosterone checked and again that was around what it has been for the past few years 525ng/dL. Think I need to find Free and Bio levels but if my SHBG and Albumin are what they have been in the past then they will also be okay. You can use Issam Chemists program to calculate if anyone is interested ...

So guys if you are thinking of starting Finaseride have a read about PFS first. Am now taking 4mg of Silodosin evening and having no problems that way  ... am considering a 'bore out' of some kind  as I would like to stop those as well.
