Life in and around Kranuan

Featured Replies

Grateful anyone living in this area let me know if there are any English speaking foreigners in this area and if so is there any social meeting place or would I be completely isolated from like company>

Many thnks

Try JJ Minimart its on the main road many farangs gather there & they sell farang food

Go to bridge bar. Owned by a Brit. Quite a few English speaking expats go there nightly.

The JJ Minimart, mentioned above, is on your right along the 2039 road from Kranuan heading towards Kham Yai and Huai Mek. There are pink signs along the road leading up to it and outside it.

About 400m before you reach it there is also a new-ish cafe/restaurant/B & B on your left which is T & D Resort. It is a modern-looking place with car parking outside and it is run by a Finnish guy and his wife and it popular with farangs. I can confirm that their breakfast is excellent!

There is also Castle How Chow in Kranuan itself which has a lovely bar and excellent Thai and Western menu ad it has the only open air swimming pool in the area which has chalets nearby which one can stay in. Also popular with farangs. They have a website with directions on how to find it.

I hope that helps
