By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A teenager was arrested on Tuesday night shortly after he allegedly robbed a Tesco Lotus Express shop in Bangkok’s Prawet district.

The unidentified 17-year-old was arrested near the Prawet intersection on Chalerm Phrakiart Road about 15 minutes after he robbed the shop at the front of Soi Chalerm Phrakiart 72 at 11pm, police say.

Police found Bt2,030 in cash, a pair of sunglasses, and two bags in his possession.

When police responded to a call they were told that the robber walked to the direction of the intersection. They found the suspect sitting at the intersection.

The teenager told police he had checked the shop a few times before he robbed it and used a knife to rob the cashier. He dropped his knife at the front of the soi.
