BANGKOK: -- A man who has produced various kinds of fake official documents as ordered online has been arrested, Metropolitan Police chief Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn said at a press conference on Wednesday (Aug 16).

Pol Lt Gen Sanit said the man, Nitipong “Jo” Thavornwiwatbut, 35, was arrested on Tuesday under a warrant approved by the Criminal Court after a long investigation.

He was arrested at a house in Soi 14 off Choke Chai 4 raod in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao district. Police seized in his possession 67 fake citizen identification cards, 33 fake driver’s licences, a number of fake student cards of various universities, a printer, a computer and many other equipment for counterfeiting official documents.

More 'Fake' news !

Some of these people have been trading for many, many years, but only now the shakedown begins.

Selling fake government documents is an occupation exclusively reserved for government officials, such as the ones employed by the immigration border stations and Phuket land office.

I understand the forgery charges, but there is no mention of impersonating Police Officers?

Also, I thought that they had stopped parading the suspects before the Press?

Well Sanit has got this weeks photo shoot sorted, why does the big boss have to get himself in the picture for something as small as this?

Your so vain must be his tune.:cheesy:

likely cutting into profits by those selling the real documents.

why buy fakes when the real ones are for sale?

He (Khun Sanit)shows his own 'real' Thai ID?
