Where to buy doughnut mix in Pattaya?

Featured Replies

I've looked in all the obvious places, Big C, Lotus, Makro, with no joy. I can't find anywhere using Google either. One place that keeps cropping up is Fun Food Thailand, but their shop is now closed down and emptied with a big "to let" sign, and their phone disconnected.

Is there anywhere in Pattaya (or even Bangkok) that sells doughnut mix?

Thanks a lot.

Did you try the catering building at Friendship near Tukcom? They stock a lot of things like that.

Though the recipe is a real doddle so I would just do it myself (if I wasnt already too fat): http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/doughnuts_89027

And a home-made mix wont have any additives or preservatives in either.

It's the additives and preservatives that make them tasty and stop them going stale quickly.

Cant help with the doughnut mix sorry, but delicious piping hot doughnuts can be purchased whilst sitting in your car from the doughnut stand on the southbound carriageway of Sukhumvit,  The stand is about 25 mtrs just before the traffic lights and left turn to Chayaprook. Keep in the left lane and pull on to their frontage and a girl will hand them to you through the window, 20 baht for four.

As with bread, I dont think the additives add anything much to the taste, though they do affect the texture and the rise.

As for going stale: any decent doughnut would be eaten long before that could happen. Mine wouldn't even have time to get cold, so they certainly need no preservatives.

Are those ring doughnuts or filled round ones?

Rings only, come with sugar on them but can ask for no sugar

Sounds good.

Have you got it written down in Thai and asked a staff member?

Big C puts things in strange, hard to find places. I'm sure I've seen it in a Big C, somewhere.
