Printing / Scans in US Letter size

Featured Replies

Is there anywhere in Chiang Mai that can scan and print documents in US Letter size (8.5x11 inches)? Preferably around Santitham or Kad Suan Kaew area?

A4 is 8.3 x 11.7 inches so I guess I could cut .7 off the bottom. :saai:

For printing:

better cut off 3 inches from the "F14" format that is available in Thailand and have the correct width

(works with paper feed printers)

F14 is 8.5 * 14 inch ( 216 x 356mm).

Easily available at misc. sources.

Last time I saw it was at our local Makro.

Letter format exists but hard to find (never saw it).

For scanning:

my simple Brother all in one device (laser print/scan) can easily scan letter format.

So guess there must be many out there.

Just checked my printers feed and it allows wider paper than A4, letter (F14) would fit.

And the question must be allowed:

what do need the letter format prints here?

There have been threads whether the US consulate accepts A4 or not.

Not sure what the outcome was.

The only thing I've ever needed to have US 'Letter Size paper for (since leaving the US) was when using a supplied envelope that was also letter size.  A4 paper doesn't fit into them... unless you cut down the margins.

The only reason for this is convenience when receiving documents via file such as pdf files scanned in the USA, printing them out to sign or fill in the blanks and mailing hard copies back to USA.

As described: if you have(?) a typical printer with paper feed (not cartridge) this would work quite easy with that F14 format.

You just have to configure the printer driver to letter format.

Then print (printer ejects the extra length), fill out and cut the 3 inches.

All that under the assumption that your US recipient would not be happy with a scaled A4 print.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I want to invest in a printer and other accessories. I'll just use A4 from the copy shop and cut .7 inches off the bottom. The width difference is only .2 inches less than US Letter size. I do this very rarely.
